  1. This chapter discovers and discusses behaviors, characteristics, knowledge, and person qualities that Business Analysts need to be successful.

    Problem Solving Skills: Business Analysts needs to be able to define and solve problems in order to accomplish and meet the needs of the business and its stakeholders. This is pretty much the foundation and reason why B.A.’s exists and are needed in an organization. If you lack these skills, then you will not be successful and will need to find a different career path.

    Visual Thinking: Business Analysts must have the skill sets to think and conceptualize ideas visually. This means being able to take data and other forms of information and create visual representations. This needs to be concise and clear so that all stakeholders can comprehend one’s ideas in a visual platform or media.

    Example with Tim Hortons.
    As a Business Analyst you will be given areas or problems that Tim Hortons face, whether it’s to improve customer experience, streamline production of donuts, or find market strategies to allow Tim Horton’s to enter into different markets. Once you have a topic you need to have problem solving skills identify all parties and ways on how we can accomplish this task. This is done through problem-solving skills and once an idea is created, you can create a visual representation of the process or method you want implement or change. You take ideas and transform them into visual concepts for stakeholders to consider and implement.

  2. Communication skill:
    An important skill that a Business Analyst should have is the communication skill.
    The communication skills disguessed in the BABOK were: Verbal Communication, Non-Verbal Communication, Written Communication and Listening skills. The ability to communicate effectively with superiors, colleagues, and staff is essential, no matter what industry you work in. Workers in the digital age must know how to effectively convey and receive messages in person as well as via phone, email, and social media.

    Organization knowledge means knowledge of how to complete the goals, about organisational structure, how to get profit and to know about the relationship between business units.
    Purpose: –
    The main purpose of organization knowledge is to understand the management structure and business constructio of the enterprise.

    Effective meausres : –
    1) Understand the terminology used in an organization.
    2) To know about the product and services of the company.
    3) Ability to act according to formal and informal communications.

    This is in the process to choosing the best out of all the alternative available to complete the project in the team with the options of business analysist and the stakeholders in the project. This includes all the process of gathering the information needed for the project, analysis the whole gather information, checking the different alternatives available in the market and perform systematically order to solve the whole task to come out with the best output need to run the project with high end effectiveness and efficiency.

    Purpose
    Decision making is a very imperative part to make the project possible done with effectiveness and efficiency.

    This is all about putting the new skills. which includes sharping the existing skills. The skills are important to come out with the better outcomes.

    The important thing is all about how to absorb the important things as quick as possible to come out with the best things as need.
